Howdy Boats People,
We're moving our membership meeting up one week in order to make ourselves available to support the fledgling effort by the North Brooklyn Boat Club (NBBC) to get themselves going on building a presence at the bottom of Manhattan Avenue at the top of North Brooklyn on the waterfront where the Newtown Creek meets the East River.
They scored a victory with getting substantial funding to begin the project of bulkhead/boathouse/launch site on the creek, but much work lies ahead. This Wednesday, April 20, 2011, is the final public hearing before the go-ahead for the project. It's important to

Howdy, Human-Powered Watercraft Enthusiasts!
We had a great time the other night at the LIC Bar, good company, excellent conversations, mixing and mingling! All kinds of exciting developments are in the works for the LICCB on the waterfront and along the NYC waterways this season and beyond.
We are looking to enhance every aspect of our operations for safety, fun, and ever increasing access to enjoyment on the water.
In light of this aim, we are participating even more in coalition building with other local groups, such as the fast-developing North Brooklyn Boat Club headed up by Dewey Thompson, along with our established

Please join me in welcoming the 2011 season of LICCB activities with good cheer!
We've made some changes in the governing structure of the LICCB with the aim and goal of creating a stronger base for operations, making leadership more accessible the the increasingly diverse interests of the community, and spreading the load of decision making to better serve larger numbers of individuals interested in playing on the water with the LICCB.
LICCB membership has agreed to a governing body consisting of a number of elected persons. It is being called the Steering Council, to reflect its role in thoughtful governance and
